Welcome to "A Day in the Life of Kunin Felt Enthusiasts" blog hop. Join us for a day with Kunin, from morning until night, whether a mug rug to enjoy your morning coffee from, working in the garden or a welcoming wreath on the front door, you are sure to be inspired by the great project ideas from our favorite felt enthusiasts.

I'm lucky enough to share my project for the afternoon. It's become a bit of a tradition to have a "cocktail hour" at our house on weekend afternoons. I set-up the patio with pretty pillows, make fun drink (mocktails for the little one), and set out some snacks. We come together as a family to talk about life and maybe play a quick game of Scrabble. It's something we all look forward to on the weekends.

One of the best ways to make our time together on the patio special is to make the seating area as pretty and comfortable as possible, so I created some bright & beautiful pillows.

Supplies:

  • Kunin felt. I used the Printzfelt and the Classicfelt They are both available in bolts/cut by the yard, so they are great for home decor projects.
  • Fairfield pillow forms and/or filling
  • Sewing supplies
  • Embroidery supplies (optional)
  • Die cut flower shapes (optional)

Instructions:

This is a really simple project! I love to make envelope pillows so that I can switch out the colors and designs for each season. To make an envelope pillow, see my tutorial here.

If you want to make a fancy, flower pillow, simply use embroidery floss to stitch some felt flower, die cut shapes onto the front piece before you sew the pillow together. Easy, peasy, right?
