It’s my first July 4th in Washington state and I’ve been warned to be ready for a few long nights of fireworks. Fireworks, at least personal fireworks, will be a new thing to me as they were illegal in California because of fire danger. We certainly went to see public fireworks, but our neighbors didn’t set them off. I have no desire to set off fireworks, but we will be having our friends over for a BBQ, so I’m gathering inspiration for crafts and food. You can see my Fourth of July inspiration board here. While I was collecting July 4th inspiration, I thought I would round-up a few projects I have created that are worth looking at again.
I originally created this cutlery pocket (and the hoop art above) for Memorial Day, but it works for the 4th too. Get the Fourth of July Hoop Art tutorial on the Kunin blog and the cutlery pocket here.
Some of my favorite Fourth of July projects were created for Rit Dye. I love this bike basket. And I miss my bike. I sold the beach cruiser when we moved from California, figuring that I will need a mountain bike in Washington. Do they sell aqua mountain bikes? Anyway, you can get the bike basket tutorial on Rit’s website.
My daughter really loved the photo shoot for this Firecracker Popsicle T-Shirt I created for Rit. Because, you know, popsicles.
Wishing you a very safe and happy July 4th!
